Jalopeno Peppers

Neighbors Suzanne and Ava along with the popular Rock N Roll Forever made a drive through the farm on this beautiful November Sunday afternoon. Goal was to place an order for some of Grandpa Stone's home grown Jalapeno peppers! He was most happy to share some of his recently harvested crop. It was fun to offer the curb side service.
October 2011

The mares are heading down for better grazing in the early fog of the morning a few days ago. It won't be long and the glorious color will have disappeared.
New York Morgan 2011

Granddaughter Ava and Rock N Roll Forever did their first Fitting and Showmanship Class in Syracuse at Region 2 Championships. Ava at age 7 and Rocky at age 17 were a delightful team. Grandma Horsey was very proud of these two.
Good Job!

Sherri Wilson owner of Boogaloo Dancer sent us word that the lovely Ms. Boo was named Res Grand Champion Mare at the Ontario Summer Classic horse show held in early July. Congratulations!
Sherri also shares that Boo is in foal to Legacy's Viking for a 2012 foal.
We are happy for Sherri and her mom, Deanna Wilson in meeting their goals with this Brookstone bred mare.
Lead With Courage

Bev Lesher sent this picture of Courage To Lead's brand new filly! Lead With Courage is pictured just minuets old with her dam, Katy. Her sire is Statesman Signature. She is a beautiful filly!
Stay tuned for more pictures of this lovely filly.
Thanks Suzanne

Thank you Suzanne Stone Evans for all you do for us as our daughter and our trainer.
Love Mom and Dad
Rock N Roll Forever

Rocky has been a favorite gelding with us as he introduced us to the wonderfulness of the Forevermore offspring. That good Morgan breeding stallion has left his mark on our breed. We have had the pleasure of breeding Rocky who is now owned by Suzanne Stone Evans and we own an own daughter of Forevermore as well. Here you see Rocky on his 17th Birthday with his good friend at the NYMHS Central District Show. They had a blast! We had fun watching!
NYMSHS Central District Show

The Pine Hollow crew had much fun in Elmira the weekend of June 10th. But fun was had not only in the show ring performances but in the good company of the people who make up the clients of Pine Hollow. Thank you Suzanne and Brian!
We were proud of five Brookstone bred horses at the show with their various owners as well. It gives a breeder such pleasure to see others enjoy their horses from the Brookstone program!
Heatherwald Foals

Super Issue has become a grand dam not once but twice as her two daughters both by UVM Springfield produced a filly and colt for Bob and Laurie Sim of Morrison,Illiniois.
Pictured is the colt by UVM Gordon, Heatherwald Rifle Man
Belle and Jane

Belle Essence and her owner, Jane Downey have worked hard this past year. Their hard work is being realized as this team comes together in the Hunter Pleasure division. We are proud of you, Jane!
Rain Rain Go Away!

Rain and Lilacs seem to be the norm for the month of May here in our area. That is our yearling colt Wicked Cool peeking over the gate as I slosh through the puddles this rainy morning.
Kathy and Vince DeFazio~Breeders of the Year!

Recently in Boston at the 2011 American Morgan Horse association Convention good friends of ours received the distinguished award for Breeders Of the Year! The Scandia program has put wonderful useful Morgans into the Morgan breed for a very long time. We are most proud to call the DeFazio's our friends. Congratulations!
Super Issue

Some horses are just full of stories of their own. This mare has a story that is too long to tell today. Dot has been a living example of the fortitude of Morgan horses as they live through life threatening situations that leave them with physical scars. But you sure can not damage those wonderful Morgan personality traits! Dot is to be a grand mother this spring to two daughters we bred and now owned by Bob and Lori Sims. Maybe with a little luck Dot will be a new Mom again in 2012. Who knows? Life's journey for Dot has been full of surprises and interesting twists!
But she is a favorite of ours no matter what.
A Head Study

Here is a favorite mare, TeAria, and her son by MEM Chill Factor when we had the camera out for the colt's 3 month birthday.
Camp Pine Hollow

It was camp time in July at PIne Hollow Farm. I was invited to be a counselor for some of the neatest young ladies I have met in quite awhile. We had a terrific week!
Peaceful Summer

Three of the herd enjoying a summer evening.
Innocence of Spring

Who can resist a Morgan foal with their expressive eyes? I sure can not.
New Foal has arrived!

TeAria a favorite mare at Brookstone has delivered a handsome colt whose sire is MEM Chill Factor. We are very happy and most pleased with this youngster.
From Equestrian, March 2010 Issue

A wonderful suprise was in store for us as we opened the new issue of the USEF Equestrian magazine. We fully expected to read about the wonderful mare, Courage To Lead, that was honored as one of five horses in competition to receive Horse of the Year Award from the USEF. This we did, but not before enjoying the tribute from Katy's owner, Bev Lesher. Thank you Bev for acknowleging the breeder of this world class mare! The Dynamic Duo has brought pride to you and Morgan Horses everywhere!
Farm Days At The Mall

The Morgan Horse is on display and getting much praise this weekend at the Oak Dale Mall Farm Days in Johnson City, NY. Organizers tell us that more than 50,000 people attend this event. Each year I set up a display and invite local Morgan folks to bring in their business cards and sales list. We lay these out along side the terrific information from the AMHA. I use pictures from the AMHA calendar to show off the beauty and versility of our Morgans. The public seems to enjoy seeing all of this.
Congratulations!

We are happy and pleased to announce the sale of Spring Bouquet to Laurie and Bob Sim of Heatherwald in Morrison, IL.

BKST Mares In The Autumn

As we changed the clocks and raked the last of the leaves I decided to spend the month of November putting up some favorite pictures from the Brookstone Album over the years. After all, November is Thanksgiving and all it brings including remembering ones family history. So please check back every few days to see what family history is up from our mare herd here at Brookstone.
Pictured is IronForge Evermore flanked to her left by her good friend, Super Issue, and looking on is a daughter of Eve, That Imagene.
BRONZE FOR KATY!

Word has reached us that Courage To Lead was the Bronze Medalist in the single pony CDE World Championship in Greven Germany! Congratulations to Bev Lesher, owner, and Suzy Stafford driver of this wonderful mare.
It was a great day for the Morgan Horse!
Favorite Mares

August is traditionally picture taking time of our Brookstone Herd. Mares are favorites here, and we do have some we treasure very much. This is one of them-- TeAria a daughter of Up Hyre Te N Te and out of a Best Mare at Silver Maple Stable in Missouri, Catawissa Lady Star.
TeAria had a winning show career as a junior mare. She is most pleasant, intellgent, and oh so level headed. TeAria is an excellent athelete and she has an outstanding son by Illegal Motion who is three years old. He is in training at Pine Hollow Morgans with Suzanne Stone Evans.
We look forward to May 2010 and her second foal sired by MEM Chill Factor. I have a feeling TeAria will soon earn our title of one of our Best Mares.
