Special Announcement It is with great pleasure we introduce **Bellmare Moon Stone** a handsome colt born April 21st on the farm of Gail and Laurence Williamson of Acworth, NH. Gail purchased Sable from us in 2001 to be her first Carriage Driving pony. After some wonderful performance experiences the decision was made to breed this lovely mare. Sable had given Brookstone four wonderful foals prior to this, and now it was Gail's turn to have the experience of a delightful Sable baby. Gail selected Charlestown Blue Moon (Charlestown Scotland x Equinox Mademoiselle). The colt is a maternal brother to the World Class CDE Courage To Lead mare who was born and bred on our farm. We wish Gail and Laurence all the best for much fun and enjoyment as this very special colt matures. I know he is going to be a good one!
April, 2008 We here at Brookstone are always anxious to participate in local Morgan Promotion for the good of our breed. We believe Promotion begins at the local level and carries on into the State and National level. The Morgan Horse is a wonderful horse! In early April, at our local mall, the Cooperative Extension and NY State Farm Bureau sponsored a Farm Days at our mall. This is a yearly production and draws, according to the sponsors, well over 50, 000 people into the mall to see Broome County Farm exhibits of all kinds. Folks can come pet and observe different animals, see many tractors, and in our case visit a Morgan table laden with Morgan items. Our table had beautiful pictures of Morgans doing a cross section of disciplines, handouts from the AMHA, and the most popular items were ways to contact local breeders and owners of Morgans. It was a grand three day weekend. We believe it is important for people to see the Morgan. We hope other people will get together and create ways for our wonderful horse to be seen by all ages in all walks of life. It is fun to do.
It is not often enough that a breeder gets to sell a horse that brings such pleasure and pride to their owner. Yes, our horses have found new wonderful homes, but this is a very special honor for this particular mare bred and born here. Courage To Lead ( Courage Of Equinox x Hartland Sable) has made the dream of owning a World Class CDE mare the reality of her owner, Bev Lesher. Not only that, she has become a very special part of Bev's world. So special that Bev has built and now completed a new farm in Akien, SC. and has chosen to name the farm after Katy. Bev congratulations on your new home, and best of luck to Katy in her new division with her new partner, Benny. They will be competing in the pairs division at the FEI level of CDE with Suzy Stafford on the lines. We wish them well in their competition in 2008! |
